Fun with Guns

To begin this entry let me start by saying Matt loves taking pictures, its one of his favorite hobbies, and he's pretty good at it! Well one thing Matt has always wanted to do was to get pictures of things while they are being shot and exploding! So now you'll understand.


We had all sorts of bottles filled with liquid. From vegetable oil, to shaving cream, to lotion, and shampoo. And this is how they all started out!
We asked my Dad to help us out with our experiment, and he was pretty excited to help! Who wouldn't be, we were blowing things up with guns!



We drove the pickup down to the gravel pit near my parents house. I held up the black sheet you see in the pictures and Matt stood across from me with the camera. Dad had the honors of shooting the bottles that were placed on a table and a block of wood between us! And with the shooting, came the exploding...

So needless to say as all these things would explode I would get showered with whatever was inside the container. By the end of the day I smelt like shampoo, lotion, vinegar, body wash, and oil! But it was so much fun, and totally worth it!

Some things exploded better than others, and some happend fast and we were not able to capture it as well, but as you can see we got some pretty good pictures too!

At this time we were getting ready to move to Colorado Springs, and the items we were shooting were bottles of liquids we decided would be too hard to take with us, or they just weren't worth taking with us. So instead of just throwing them away we disposed of them in a funner way...

One of these days we want to do this again! We just need more things to take with us to shoot! As you can imagine my Dad had so much fun, and so did we!
